Eureka Street on the “Death of Fanaticism”
During Swami Vivekananda’s opening remarks before the 1893 Parliament of the World’s Religions, he expressed the hope that the event may represent “the death-knell of all fanaticism.” The urgency of that hope over one-hundred years later is the subject of this short argument by Eureka Street writer Peter Kirkwood.
