Africa Symposium

African Programming at #2021PoWR

The Parliament of the World’s Religions is partnering with the Cape Town Interfaith Initiative (CTII) to host an Africa Regional Symposium as part of the 2021 Parliament of the World’s Religions. The Africa Symposium will be hosted on Sunday, October 17th from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM Central Time (GMT+2) and Monday, October 18th from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM Central Time (GMT+2).

The two-part symposium is deeply inspired by the theme of the 2021 Parliament, “Opening Our Hearts to the World: Compassion in Action” and features programming that is as geographically inclusive as possible. Featured themes convey the lived reality that Africa's gift to the world, Ubuntu - I am because you are. The program will highlight the challenges and the solutions within our own hands and hearts. The Symposium seeks to explore the role of interfaith engagement in these very different areas, listening always for the voices of youth, healing, compassion and peace.

African voices are joining the world’s premier Interfaith Convening of civic, spiritual, and grassroots changemakers virtually this October! Stay tuned for more updates coming soon.
