On Our Faith: Sikh Immersion & Depicting Spirituality Through Paintings

Join the Sikh community for the next event on their Sikh Immersion series with a focus on "depicting spirituality through paintings".

When: November 4th, 2017 at 1:45-4:00 p.m.

Where: Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara, 221 Bath Road, Slough, SL1 4BA, UK

Sikh Sangat of Canada intends to provide guests with an in-depth exposure to another faith to broaden their perspective and enable them to see the commonalities with their own faith. To this end, the event called a “Sikhi Immersion Experience” will enable guests to experience an evening in the Gurdwara.

The event will start with a guided tour of the premises commencing with the Langar Hall (dining room) for snacks and an explanation of the five centuries old langar tradition. During their tour, the guests will also see the relics housed at the Gurdwara and receive an explanation of the historical events depicted in paintings on the Gurdwara walls. This will be followed by an opportunity to sit in the temple as part of the congregation and to experience the spiritual meditation and reading of scriptures from the Sikh faith. The afternoon will end with a sumptuous meal in the langar hall, at which time one of their most experienced speakers will address them on “Depicting Spirituality Through Paintings”.

Please take some time to read the guide provided for a brief introduction into Visiting a Gurdwara before attending the event. Want to learn more about the event? Contact Savraj Singh at savraj71@googlemail.com or at +44 7547 375220
