Celebrating Harmony In Our Broken World
Our stories define who we are and what is important, both personally and collectively and form the bedrock of our shared humanity. The purpose of this event is to rebuild community in these challenging times and to discern together how we can bring healing to a broken world.
In many ways, this local event incorporates the universal themes of inclusion, love, understanding, and change of the Toronto parliament to our particular vision. We are aware that we are living in a time of anxiety, division, and disruption nationally and internationally, and in our small way are seeking to be agents of healing and reconciliation. We plan to do this through the sharing of our different stories –cosmic, political, communal and personal—in the hope that in doing so we help to lift our spirits, repair the breach, and rebuild the world. Stories define who we are, how we should think about ourselves and our purpose, both as communities and as individuals, and based on that definition, how we ought to behave toward one another. The hope is that through the sharing of our stories, we will come up with actions that we can bring into the world that help in creating harmony in the midst of our current discord.
The conference will feature numerous workshops that highlights the stories of individuals and communities relieving our world of the tensions of injustice, as well as keynote speakers like Brian Swimme, an evolutionary cosmologist and author of the bestselling book The Universe Story, and Kathy Eldon, the founder of Creative Visions, that creates award-winning films and programs for social change. From individuals narratives to a collective voice, our gathering will travel through the different ".
Sunday, August 12th, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Registration starts at 12 p.m.
Vegetarian Dinner - Sikh Langar will be served afterward.
Must RSVP by no later than August 8th.
