Major Parliament Announcement Set for May 2

Dear Colleagues and Friends across the Interfaith World,

In seven days, you will receive an announcement unveiling the name of the host nation who will make interfaith history as the home of the 7th Parliament of the World's Religions.

Our partners in this effort are an exceptional team from Interfaith organizations, a city council, educational institutions, and spiritual leaders, all bonded now to bring the next - and again - largest, most diverse, inclusive and historic meeting of the global interfaith movement to action.

We are extremely excited that in just one week, our partners will expand to encircle our human family; inviting each of you, every person of faith, ethical and moral convictions to move in harmony toward achieving a more peaceful, just and sustainable world.

It's a big ask, I know, but I hope you'll understand my asking you to stand with the Parliament, and the thousands of us who will maximize our strength by working together with a shared vision. In our spiritual and cultural diversity, we can be a powerful force for good and include millions more in this global movement.

At our last encounter, just a year and a half ago, the Parliament of the World's Religions broke our own record, hosting more than 10,000 guests from a total of 73 countries and more than 200 unique spiritual traditions.

Our Inaugural Women's Assembly, Indigenous gatherings and Emerging Leaders programs inspired commitments from all of us to advance inclusively from small community interfaith groups to religious councils across the world. Here at the Parliament, we are thrilled to have invited and welcomed an unprecedented number of new women, Indigenous and next generation leaders to our governing Board of Trustees and working groups.

These programs, speeches, confessions, and connections changed the direction of my life -- and maybe your life, too?

At our next Parliament we will be celebrating our 125th anniversary. But we will be looking back only to be inspired for our future: building connections with each other and with those "guiding institutions" that can help us bring about change in our still violent, unequal, and ever-warming world.

But before we finally tell you where we'll meet next year, let us again tell you once more what you mean to us, and how much we're looking forward to finally revealing this major news.

This is your Parliament. Tell us what you dream it can be.

More soon,

Larry Greenfield
Executive Director
