Scottish Eid Dinner Celebration Features Parliament Keynote Address

August 14, 2019

On August 13th, 2019 the Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society hosted the 5th Annual Eid Fellowship Dinner which brought together local and international faith, interfaith and civic leaders.
The Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society is a faith-based (Shī’a Ithnā ʿAsharī ) organization working to meet the needs of the Scottish Shia Muslim community and the breadth of society in general across the cultural, social, political, and religious spectra. They work to engage with other communities and faiths; strengthening ties in an effort to create a setting for religious and racial harmony, equality, and diversity in the nation.
The dinner featured speeches from a variety of leaders, among them the Chair of the Parliament of the World’s Religions, Audrey Kitagawa. The Parliament has been represented at various  Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society events in the past and this marks the Chair’s first keynote at the Annual Dinner. Unable to be present physically, Kitagawa addressed the dinner via video. You can view the full address below.

On behalf of the Parliament of the World’s Religions, we extend a belated Eid Mubarak to our Muslim brothers and sisters in Scotland and around the world.
