The host of the 2015 Parliament of the World's Religions, Utah, welcomed the 68th Annual United Nations Civil Society Conference from Monday, August 26th to Wednesday, August 28th. This marks the first time the UN conference has been hosted in the continental United States outside of New York City, the home of the United Nations.

The conference was hosted jointly by Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah.

The Parliament of the World’s Religions joined representatives of civil society from around the world, and senior UN officials, to discuss a wide range of solutions to the challenges of urban life and the modern world.

The 2019 conference gathered around a theme of “building inclusive and sustainable cities and communities”. The Parliament was represented by the Chair of the Board, Audrey Kitagawa, who joined Bruce Knotts from the Unitarian Universalist Association, Debra Boudreaux from the Tzu Chi Foundation, and Martha Gallahue from United Religions Initiative to host the program “The Power of Interfaith Dialogue and Cooperation for Inclusive, Safe Communities.” The program was hosted on Tuesday, August 27th and focused on the ways in which interfaith dialogue can serve to identify, address and implement solutions for local, national and global challenges.
