On Sunday, February 28th the Interfaith Centre of Melbourne is hosting a virtual sacred music concert in observance of UN World Interfaith Harmony Week. Love Songs for Our Neighbors will feature performances based on the themes of love of God and Creation, love of the Neighbour, love of the Good, from diverse traditions.
Music, especially sacred music, transcends and unites. It expresses the universal yearning that is shared by people all over the planet. In 2020 we adapted as a species to the pandemic offering virtual services and experiences and in 2021 we can develop this method of shared experience even more, through a virtual sacred concert for our world and our local and global neighbours. During these difficult times of human health, planetary health and political conflict, we can connect virtually and deeply, through music and song, spreading harmony from many traditions, bringing joy to our souls and strengthening our spirits as we journey through 2021.
