Climate Forum: Good News from Care for Creation

Read this special Climate Action Forum Topic by John T. Pawlikowski, OSM, PhD:

The Care for Creation movement achieved significant victories involving three major oil companies during the last week of May, 2021.
A court in the Netherlands upheld a lawsuit against Royal Dutch Shell, the world’s largest oil company, requiring it to reduce its emissions by 45% in the coming years. The case was brought by a group of seven environmental organizations and more than 17,000 Dutch citizens who are co-plaintiffs. In addition, shareholder revolts at both Chevron and ExxonMobil resulted in the election of pro-care for creation supporters to their boards.

WATCH NOW | WHO Health Week - Faith and Food Systems Reflections

On Thursday, June 10th the Parliament of the World's Religions joined the Center for Earth Ethics for the program "WHO Health Week - Faith and Food Systems Reflections".

To contribute to the UN Food Systems Summit, the Faith + Food Coalition hosted five separate interfaith, multi-stakeholder dialogues corresponding to each of the five Action Tracks. The objective of the dialogues was to explore how faith communities - including Indigenous communities - can support the transformation of global food systems to being sustainable, accessible, equitable, and regenerative. This panel reflects on the dialogues and offer insights into increased faith engagement leading up to the Food Systems Summit and beyond.

Featuring Mark Chinen

This is part two of a two part conversation between Religica Theolab Founder Michael Reid Trice and Mark Chinen, who serves as Professor of Law at the Seattle University School of Law. Chinen received his Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School before going on to receive his law degree from Harvard Law School. More recently, Chinen has dedicated time to writing on artificial intelligence and legal responsibility.
