The Right to a Healthy Environment and Sustainable Environment: An Official COP27 Side Event

On Thursday, November 10th the Parliament of the World’s Religions partnered with the UNEP Faith for Earth Initiative and Bahu Trust to host “The Right to a Healthy Environment: Faith And Ethical Perspectives” as an official side event of COP27.

The right to a healthy environment is upheld by the ethical teachings of the world’s faith traditions on justice and the imperative to value nature. Featuring Dr. Iyad Abumoghli, Imam Saffet Catovic, Dr. Lorna Gold, H.E. Ms. Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces, Alieu J. Pusah, and Kehkashan Basu.


Land Acknowledgment

The Parliament of the World's Religions acknowledges it is situated on the traditional homelands of the Bodéwadmik (Potawatomi), Hoocąk (Winnebago/Ho’Chunk), Jiwere (Otoe), Nutachi (Missouria), and Baxoje (Iowas); Kiash Matchitiwuk (Menominee); Meshkwahkîha (Meskwaki); Asâkîwaki (Sauk); Myaamiaki (Miami), Waayaahtanwaki (Wea), and Peeyankihšiaki (Piankashaw); Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo); Inoka (Illini Confederacy); Anishinaabeg (Ojibwe), and Odawak (Odawa).
