World Interfaith Harmony Week Event Reflects on the Climate Emergency
On February 3rd, 2020 the Parliament of the World’s Religions partnered with the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, the United Nations Office of the Unitarian Universalist Association, the Committee of Religious NGOs at the United Nations and the World Yoga Community in observance of World Interfaith Harmony Week.
Interfaith Harmony Week Breakfast Dialogue: Reflecting on the Climate Emergency held a space for faith leaders to share prayers and reflections from their faith traditions to build mutual understanding on how each faith community is addressing the climate crisis and identify where opportunities exist for interfaith climate action.
The program began with a breakfast buffet and informal dialogue between attendees, followed by reflections, prayers, and open mic time for participants. Parliament Chair, Audrey Kitagawa who was unable to attend the event, shared a prepared video reflection and Parliament Trustee, Bruce Knotts shared brief reflections.
