Making Peace Possible: The Shared Wisdom of the Human Heart; with Sakyong Mipham
Parliament is honored to meet and participate in “Making Peace Possible” event with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche at the Fourth Presbyterian Church Chicago. Sakyong is the head of the global Shambhala spiritual community and the son of the Shambhala founder, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Sakyong was born in 1962 in Bodhgaya, India the site of Buddha’s enlightenment.
We had the opportunity to introduce the 2015 Parliament in the beginning of the event. Dr. Mary Nelson our former Executive Director further explained, how we can reclaim the heart of our humanity through making peace with each other. Sakyong Rinpoche spoke to about 200 attendees about making peace possible with a shared wisdom of the human heart as a community. With his great meditation session he further guided the audience to achieve that goal. The event ended with a great reception where attendees had the opportunity to talk to Sakyong personally and share their thoughts.
