I whole-heartedly endorse the expanded Global Ethic Declaration. The "new" commitment to a culture of sustainability and care for the Earth is a re-discovery of the thousand-year-old ethical standard of the popular indigenous belief systems all over the Earth that human beings are just a small part of nature and creation and that humans should respect and live in harmony with nature and all other creation. The culture of sustainability and care for the Earth is not only a common ethical norm in religion but also reflected in philosophy, for example the "ecological imperative" of Hans Jonas.
|David C. Oughton, Ph.D.||Associate Professor of the World's Religions||Saint Louis University||Fenton||United States||Christianity||
I fully endorse the expanded Declaration for a Global Ethic as part of the necessary foundation for creating a world constitution and a democratic world federation that would outlaw war, genocide, and terrorism, prosecute individuals who violate world laws, and be better able to solve our major global problems such as climate change and the destruction of our natural resources.

I fully endorse the Global ethics. The fifth directive was the missing one. We owe it to our future generations.
