On-going Projects & Programs

The Global Ethic is a dynamic document that provides numerous opportunities to develop programming, projects, and ongoing engagement opportunities.

In the spring of 2018, in celebration of the 125th anniversary of the 1893 Parliament and the 25th anniversary of the 1993 Parliament & the Global Ethic document, the Parliament of the World's Religions partnered with the University of Chicago to host a two-day conference, Grappling with the Global Ethic.

Grappling with the Global Ethic

Hosted at the University of Chicago Divinity School, Grappling with the Global Ethic: Multi-Religious Perspectives on Global Issues Conference was a two-day conference together leading scholars of several faith traditions. Each presenter explored a contemporary issue of social justice that is found in the context of his or her own religious community, and brought to bear the unique ethical resources of that tradition in engaging the issue, as well as the moral directives of the signature document of the Parliament of the World’s Religions, “Towards a Global Ethic: An Initial Declaration,” also known as the Global Ethic.
