Youth PoWR – Unity in Diversity

YOUTH PoWR, an initiative of the Columban Centre for Christian-Muslim Relations, hosted its annual gathering this past Sunday, August 19th, 2018 at the SGI Centre in Sydney, Australia.
This year’s theme was “Harmony for Humanity – Unity in Diversity” and the event engages individuals between the ages of 18-35 and focuses on interfaith dialogue, understanding, and change. Attendees enjoyed speeches and performances from Aboriginal, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, Hindu, Baha’i and Jewish tradition.
The event provided a chance for young people to vote on their top commitments and challenging them to sign on to create change. The top areas of commitments from the event were: community engagement, interreligious dialogue, community engagement, equal opportunity, domestic violence, blind following, and discrimination.
