This will be a screening of a documentary about a female Muslim religious leader, educator, and peace advocator who became an international humanitarian citizen. She was born in Senegal, the daughter of the great Tidjani Shaykh, Ibrahim Niasse, and she has over 200,000 followers and students. She has worked over 40 years to educate African women and children in rural West Africa. This documentary, edited by Mustapha Al-Assane, highlights her scholarship and her critical global feminist approach to agency, which in turn, lead to women’s empowerment. This 42-minute screening will be followed by a Q&A session for discussion. Join us on her journey of reconciliation of Muslims.
