Postcolonial Struggles for Justice

For almost 500 years the colonial empires oppressed many countries of the Global South, including their religions and cultures, and exploited their natural resources. Although some empires have seen their demise, other continue to oppress, dominate and violate various people groups. For many, even after more than 70 years of independence, the repercussions of that atrocity continue. Ethno-religious conflicts, political and economic struggles, religious extremism and many other injustices are a part of the post-colonial reality. In this workshop, a panel of renowned experts will reflect on how religions can be the catalysts for justice.
