Connection First: Building a Faith-Rooted Healing Engaged Movement

Session Description:

In 2017, 23 organizations in Chicago came together to host a gathering to explore the role of faith communities in creating loving, healing-engaged strategies to address the traumas and adversities we face as humans. That meeting sparked a regional movement that has engaged hundreds of people in shaping a collaborative, faith-rooted agenda around faith, trauma, and resilience. This session tells the story of this movement, emphasizing the participatory process that we used to define and develop our approach, multifaith considerations, and the key insights that we are gaining about faith, trauma, and resilience.
