QWhat qualities and qualifications are we looking for in an Ambassador?

A: The Parliament’s Ambassador program is open to individuals from all walks of life and every corner of the world. However, as individuals who are promoting the Parliament mission and vision, each applicant must meet certain requirements in order to be accepted into the program.

Applicants must show proficiency in at least 4 of the following 9 skills:

  • Public speaking
  • Small group facilitation
  • Moderating
  • IT
  • Languages
  • Writing
  • Social Media
  • Education/Training

Applicants must have basic experience in leadership and in organizing/participating in inter-religious events.

Applicants must have a basic understanding of the Parliament’s mission, vision, and work.

All applicants are welcomed regardless of gender, ethnicity, religious background, or occupation.


Q: What is the process of accepting an Ambassador into the program?

A: Once the required references have been submitted to the Ambassador Liaison, the application is assigned to a two-person team made up of members of the Ambassador Advisory Council. The members of the AAC provide a recommendation to the Parliament staff who provide final approval of the application and reach out to the applicant regarding the decision.


Q: How long does it take to process an application?

A: Because the members of the AAC work on a volunteer basis, the turnaround for applications varies depending on the time of the year. Normally a decision regarding an application is reached within 3-4 weeks after the Ambassador Liaison receives the required letters of recommendation. During the holidays an application can take up to 6-10 weeks to be processed.


Q: I submitted my application but have heard no response from the Parliament?

A: The Ambassador Liaison emails all applicants once their application has been received, when the letters of recommendation are submitted, and when the application has been assigned to a review team.
