Indigenous Peoples’ touch the Parliament of the World’s Religions through profound and sacred engagements at its major international Parliament convening, in programming at the United Nations, and in far-reaching advocacy on urgent issues including the protection of sacred Indigenous sites, and all of life itself. From cross-cultural dialogue among youth to activism led by honourable Indigenous Elders and Wisdom Keepers, there is a place for all to come and experience authentic , meaningful, and purposeful engagement of Indigenous rights, issues, and cultures.

The 2018 Parliament of the World’s Religions

The 2018 Parliament of the World’s Religions will provide a platform for Indigenous wisdom traditions to take their place alongside all world religions in order to share Indigenous Traditional Spiritual Knowledge that may provide inspiration and sacred guidance for humanity as we grapple with the challenges of climate change, violence, war, genocide, economic disparities, food shortages, the disappearance of reservoirs and extinction of species.

To complement the primary theme and to offer Indigenous spiritual knowledge to the Parliament, the Indigenous Working Group for the 2018 Parliament of World Religions has chosen its theme as:

The Parliament of the World’s Religions, through its International Indigenous Task Force and the Toronto Indigenous Working Group, has invited Indigenous leaders, faith keepers, traditional knowledge holders and others an opportunity to offer workshops, panel discussions, to be a speaker or feature a presentation that will share their Indigenous knowledge and spiritual teachings.

In addition to these knowledge sessions, the program will offer Indigenous music, dance, art, and performance from across Canada and around the world.

Building from a long history of participation from Indigenous Peoples’, the Indigenous Task Force and Indigenous Working Group Co-Chairs invite you to participate in the robust program by proposing a program, purchasing a booth, volunteering with the working group, hosting a pre-Parliament event, or becoming a sponsor.
