Ven. Pomnyum Sunim

The founder and Guiding Zen Master of Jungto Society, Venerable Pomnyun Sunim is one of the most recognized and influential religious leaders in South Korea with an active following. YouTube videos of his dharma talks have more than 300M views, and his books are perennial best-sellers. A well-respected North Korea expert, his humanitarian and human rights work in North Korea since late 1990’s was featured in the New York Times in 2012. He is also the founder and chair of an international relief agency (Join Together Society), a center for peace, human rights and refugees (Good Friends), a think-tank (The Peace Foundation), and an environmental movement organization (EcoBuddha).
