Oak Creek 10th Anniversary Remembrance

On August 5th, 2012, seven worshippers were murdered by a white supremacist at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. This August, join the Sikh community of Oak Creek to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of this tragedy. Together, honor the memory of those lost and continue the fight against white supremacy and violent hate.

The 10th Anniversary Remembrance kicks off on Thursday, August 4th with a special forum on Healing from Hate and Protecting Places of Worship. On Friday, the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin will host the 10-Year Remembrance Vigil. Saturday will feature programming and booths from local and regional vendors. And on Sunday, an Akhand Path and Kirtan will offer a closing tribute.

The Parliament of the World’s Religions will be hosting an informational booth at the Chardi Kala Community Event on Saturday, August 6th.
