Paganism & Monotheism: An Open Conversation on Healing and Reconciliation

Session Description:

In the decades since its rebirth, Paganism has welcomed a substantial number of people as their new spiritual home, many of whom once belonged to a monotheistic faith tradition—often Christianity. Its communities build themselves on the reclaimed folklore, beliefs, and cultural customs that mark modern Pagan practice, however this focus inward also gives rise to isolationism. Without contact with living Paganism, misinformed notions within Monotheistic traditions continue to evolve unchecked. This religious bunker has kept Monotheists and Pagans from experiencing one another, often leading to misunderstanding, resentment, anger, and phobia. In this discussion, we seek to answer commonly asked and often crucial questions about one another. Session participants are encouraged to participate in the hope for improved understanding and better relations between Monotheistic and Pagan faith traditions.
