Dr. Ingrid Mattson

Dr. Ingrid Mattson is a scholar of Islamic Studies and a Muslim religious leader. Since 2012, she has held the London and Windsor Community Chair in Islamic studies at Huron University College in London, Canada. Previously, she was professor of Islamic Studies, founder of the Islamic Chaplaincy Program, and director of the Center for Christian-Muslim Relations at Hartford Seminary in Connecticut, USA. From 2001-2010, Dr. Mattson was elected vice-president, then president, of the Islamic Society of North America (USA), she was the first woman to serve in either position. Her writings focus on Qur’anic Studies, theological ethics, and interfaith engagement.
