Elizabeth Ursic

Dr. Elizabeth Ursic is a professor of Religious Studies at Mesa Community College, the Co-Chair of the Women’s Caucus at the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature, and the spiritual director at the Franciscan Renewal Center. Elizabeth holds an MDiv from Yale Divinity School and a PhD in Religious Studies from Arizona State University. Her research focus is religion, gender, and the arts. Her book, Women, Ritual, Power: Placing Female Imagery of God in Christian Worship, was published by SUNY Press in 2014. She is a board member of the Arizona Interfaith Movement. In addition to teaching, she enjoys hiking, international travel and playing piano and cello. She has recorded a CD, Unspoken Touch.
