Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid Commits Climate Action at the Religions for the Earth MultiFaith Service
Parliament Chair Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid commits to ensuring sustainable living is a major theme of the forthcoming 2015 Parliament of the World's Religions in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the Religions for the Earth MultiFaith Service held September 21, International Day of Peace, at Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York City. The Religions for the Earth Conference hosted by Union Theological Seminary included participating in the People's Climate March.. At the MultiFaith service, speakers from several faith traditions spoke from around the world and the indigenous communities to the challenges of climate change and ways the faith communities can rise to face them together. Highlights here include Jim Wallis of Sojourners and world leaders including former U.S. Vice-President Al Gore and Deputy Secretary General Jan Eliasson from the United Nations.
