A Heartfelt Thank You to the Sikh Community for their Remarkable Contribution of Daily Langar for All

The Parliament of World Religions extends its deepest gratitude to the Sikh community for their extraordinary dedication and unwavering support during the 2023 Parliament of the World’s Religions. Their commitment to service and compassion shone brightly as they brought together 300 volunteers, including 105 from London, to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all attendees.
In a remarkable display of generosity, the Sikh community contributed $30,000 towards the installation of the tent for langar, a sacred tradition of providing free meals to all, regardless of their background or beliefs. This act of kindness not only enriched the spiritual experience of our gathering but also nourished the hearts and souls of those in attendance.
Each day, the Sikh community provided langar to approximately 2000-3000 people, embodying the values of community, equality, and selfless service that lie at the core of their faith. Their efforts transcended cultural and religious boundaries, fostering unity and understanding among our diverse group of participants.
The Parliament of the World Religions commends the Sikh community for their exceptional contributions, which not only filled our bellies but also warmed our hearts. Their dedication to fostering goodwill and harmony among all people is a testament to the power of interfaith collaboration.
We express our sincere gratitude to the Sikh community for their invaluable role in making the Parliament of World Religions a truly transformative and unforgettable experience.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Nitin Ajmera, Chair of the Board of Trustees
