Representatives from Chicago’s broad religious base will gather for a program of shared experience: expressions of peace, freedom, and human rights, through music, poetry, art and dance.
WHEN: Thursday, August 10th at 11:00 AM
WHERE: Exodus Institute at 816 N. Laramie Ave., Chicago, IL
Religious organizations are invited to present a short performance (3-7 minutes) that expresses their faith’s dedication to Peace, Freedom, and Human Rights. Please make certain to contact (773-401-2605) at your earliest convenience if you and/or your community would like to attend and/or be part of the program.
Each person will have the opportunity to make a prayer for peace as they hold the Peace Torch. The Torch symbolizes a rekindling and sharing of spiritual values. After the program, join a short peace walk to Buckingham Foundation.
As a special endeavor children are encouraged to participate in the “Art from the Heart” exhibit, in which children create art expressing their own vision for peace, freedom, and dedication to human rights.
