In Memoriam: Bishop Barbara King

The Parliament of the World’s Religions is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Bishop Dr. Barbara King on October 12, 2020. Dr. King served as the Founder Minister/World Spiritual Leader of Hillside International Truth Center, Inc., a New Thought, inclusive, healing ministry open to all people, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, she was honored with the dedication of the Dr. Barbara Lewis King Interfaith Chapel at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport due to her continued commitment to the interfaith movement locally and around the world.
Bishop Barbara King was a keynote at the Inaugural Women’s Assembly at the 2015 Parliament of the World’s Religions in Salt Lake City and a major speaker at the 2018 Parliament of the World’s Religions in Toronto. She was a committed donor and member of the Parliament of the World’s Religions.
Dr. King died in Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 90. The Parliament extends our deepest condolences to Dr. King’s family, loved ones, and faith community.
