World Interfaith Harmony Week seeks to spread the message of harmony and tolerance among the followers of all the world’s religions, faiths and beliefs. It seeks to do this by promoting their common basis of “Love of God and Love of the Neighbor, or Love of the Good and Love of the Neighbor”. This past February, which marked the 10th anniversary of the initiative, we witnessed the power of love in the interfaith movement worldwide as more than 1,500 individuals, groups and organizations came together in this historic celebration. We witnessed it in Chicago, where the Parliament partnered with over 17 organizational, educational, and community partners for a full day celebrating the unique history of the movement in the city.
We witnessed it in New York, where the Parliament and local partners celebrated the unique importance of addressing the climate emergency and gender justice. We witnessed it in Cape Town, where our friends from the Cape Town Interfaith Initiative brought together individuals from around the world to connect and celebrate the unique faith and spiritual communities that drive the local interfaith movement. We witnessed it between cities and town, between communities and groups, between friends and neighbors. Explore these events and more at WorldInterfaithHarmonyWeek.com |
