Join Parliament Trustees for Webinar on “Interfaith Harmony & Environmental Justice”
On Saturday, February 11th Green Hope Foundation is hosting a webinar in observance of World Interfaith Harmony Week. The webinar will feature the participation of Parliament Chair, Nitin Ajmera, and be moderated by Parliament Trustee and NextGen Task Force Chair, Kehkashan Basu.
As the world grapples with the triple planetary crisis, social injustices, and economic downturns, it is now more evident than ever that these challenges act as mutual “threat multipliers” that are contributing to the heightened fragility of our social fabric, natural balance, and economic stability, deepening pre-existing inequalities and creating environmental injustice. Therefore, we need to adopt the values-based approach propagated by our religions and spiritual beliefs that tells us to be in harmony with nature and take care of our Mother Earth. In this way, an interfaith approach towards achieving environmental justice will ensure that the process of rebuilding better addresses these intersectional challenges from a multidimensional lens to create a just, equitable, and peaceful world for the environment, society, and economy to coexist in harmony.
This webinar will bring together expert panelists from different faiths to discuss how best we can work together to achieve interfaith harmony and environmental justice. Join Marie Daher, Deputy, Public Advocacy & Communication Section, UN Environment Programme; Hawa Diallo, Public Information Officer, Civil Society Unit, UN Department of Global Communications; Nitin Ajmera, Chair of the Board of Trustees, Parliament of the World’s Religions; Steve Chiu, Representative at the United Nations, Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation; Alieu J. Pusah, Chapter Head, Green Hope Foundation Liberia; Pragna Vasupal, Director of Events, Green Hope Foundation; and Kehkashan Basu, M.S.M., Founder-President, Green Hope Foundation this Saturday from 11 am-12:30 pm ET.
