Join PoWR Sponsored Side Events of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues 22nd Session

On April 21st, join the Parliament of the World’s Religions, The Episcopal Church, Anglican Communion, Loretto at the UN, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) for a series of side events hosted on the margins of the 22nd session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. The United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) is a high-level advisory body to the Economic and Social Council. The Forum was established to deal with indigenous issues related to economic and social developmentculturethe environmenteducationhealth, and human rights.

The series of side events start with a “Multi-Faith Worship Service” from 11 am – 12 pm Eastern at the Chapel of Christ the Lord, open to the public and streamed via facebook.com/episcopalun, followed by a  welcome lunch and fellowship from 12 – 1 pm Eastern.  At 1 pm, a panel will offer a dynamic discussion around the topic, “The Church and Indigenous Boarding Schools: A Time of Reckoning and Looking to the Future.”

The side events are hosted by the Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop’s delegation to PFII22 and co-sponsored by Anglican Communion, Loretto at the UN, the Parliament of the World’s Religions, and the ELCA.
