Averting Globally Destabilizing Wars: Building a System of International Collective Security
Session Description:
If there is one thing the wars in Ukraine, Syria, Yemen, Tigray, and other countries teach us, it is that in today’s interconnected and interdependent world, such wars have become untenable. The costs have become too high and include global food and energy crises, rampant global inflation and economic recession, and the risk of a nuclear conflagration—all this on top of the cost in human life, misery, and wanton destruction. The teachings of Baha’u’llah offer a prescient and unprecedented blueprint for creating a system of international collective security that is foundational to assuring the peace and security of all nations and peoples. This session explores this blueprint in detail and demonstrates how its application will avert destructive wars in the future.
