Can Spiritual Mystery Save Us from Political Uncertainty?

Session Description:

We live in disorienting times. Things that once seemed stable—climate, livelihood, nation—are not. Many spiritual seekers and religious communities reach for certainty. Some choose fundamentalism, ethnic exclusivity, or rigid codes of living. But these choices often bring isolation, division, and more social fragmentation. So, what else can spiritual seekers and spiritual communities do? Adopt spiritual practices that turn toward mystery and wonder? Create new and surprising interfaith partnerships? Find opportunities to serve others? Develop faith in something beyond human institutions? A panel of longtime interfaith activists from three traditions explores these questions. We propose different answers, then invite thoughtful responses from the audience. Of course, we cannot promise you will come away with an unshakeable answer. But we do expect to open new pathways to action.
