Conflict Sensitivity for Interfaith Engagement
Session Description:
This session is an engaging introduction to conflict sensitivity, a planning approach for interfaith action initiatives. Conflict sensitivity helps us to wrestle with the possibility of unintended consequences, recognizing that every initiative has the potential to either nurture or unintentionally harm intergroup relationships. The most influential conflict sensitivity tool, called “Do No Harm,” identifies inter-group Dividers and Connectors to help you understand the relational impact of your decisions and actions, so that you can intentionally make those impacts as positive as possible. It also has a catalytic effect on inclusive paradigm development and spiritual transformation. Facilitators have led conflict sensitivity research and hands-on practice around the world, and recently co-published this experience in the journal Development in Practice. Participants gain inspiration, practical tools, and insights on how to apply conflict sensitivity to their work.
