CANCELLED: Creating New Life Cycle Rituals that Build Community

Session Description:

All of our religions respond to key life-cycle transitions: birth, adulthood, marriage, death. Yet there are so many other moments—unique and universal—that need to be acknowledged, celebrated, and mourned in community rather than in isolation. This session illustrates one or two such moments in one woman’s life and invites participants (woman and allies) in pairs to reflect on such moments in their lives that they marked ritually or wish that they had. Beyond the boundaries of any religion, this session is an exploration of those moments in our lives that are too often hidden; by creating such rituals, we make our lives transparent and connected to our bodies, our hearts, our minds, our souls, and one another.
