Cultivating Peace Through a Bowl of Tea | Part 2
Session Description:
These days, anxiety and depression are significant issues among the younger generation caused by our daily human relationships, social injustice, and economic problems. Japanese tea ceremony practice aims to provide peacefulness and a tranquil mind. This session provides a tea ceremony demonstration by trained practitioners and offers peacefulness through tea and conveys a concept of calmness to the younger generation. Tea ceremony is recognized as one of the oldest cultural traditions in Japan, which emphasizes four principles: harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility. It is a composite discipline and brings together numerous arts and customs such as literature, flower arranging, calligraphy, painting, kimono, architecture, handicrafts, the concept of “one time opportunity,” and hospitality. This session offers the moment to have peace in our heart and offer harmony and respect perspectives through enjoying green powdered tea.
