Defending Human Rights by Adopting the Concept of Oneness of Humanity as Advocated by Guru Nanak

This session explores the Sikh perspective on “Oneness of Humanity” wherein God is depicted as a personality, with two founding qualities: without fear without enmity. Where there is Oneness, there is no “other” to be fearful or vengeful toward. When we regard others as unfamiliar or alien, it is easy to emit vibrations of hate and fear. Whilst the egocentric self carves lines of separation between “us” and “them” our spiritual self sees from a perspective of underlying connection. Embracing the twin values of without fear, without enmity, we learn to work from a spirit of kinship & solidarity…even as we face conflict. This session is designed to stimulate the conscience of human beings to embrace this through “Loving Thy Neighbour” which is well known in the Christian & other religions. The session is based on the book “Jewels from Sikh Wisdom” whose patron is Bhai Sahib Mohinder Singh of Nishkam Seva.
