Don’t Call the Chaplain because the Patient’s not Religious: Dealing With Hospital Gatekeepers
Session Description:
The increase of those who identify as either “non-religious” or “spiritual but not religious” in clinical settings has created challenges for professional spiritual care providers in hospital settings. This session offers ideas for overcoming the spiritual care gatekeeping that chaplains often face and invites participants to share experiences and brainstorm together about best practices for better integration of spiritual care providers as members of the Interdisciplinary Provider Team.
