Flight of the Angelbird: What the Birds Teach Us About Freedom

Session Description:

Dancer, performance artist, and filmmaker, Elizabeth Yochim shares a live multi-media performance combining video projection, dance, and music. In her performance, she explores how people who come from different ideas, backgrounds, and assumptions find a common embodied expression of freedom. The performance is based on the artist’s ten-year journey as a street performer engaging people all over the world in the conversation of freedom and dreams. Spurred on by her belief that freedom at its most fundamental level is the freedom of the imagination, she asks the questions: What restricts our imagination? What limits our understanding of what is possible? The performance is a reminder that the fantastic is possible and that the next level of freedom is to make what you imagine real.
