Greening of Congregations: The State of the Movement | Part 3

Session Description:

The “greening” of houses of worship of many faith traditions has now become a worldwide movement. The shift to environmental sustainability focuses on such practices as adopting renewable energy, energy conservation, environmentally positive diet and food production, reducing plastic use, waste management, and care of the plants, trees, and wildlife on land belonging to the congregation. It also includes as its foundation education in the teachings of the community’s religion on our relation to the natural world, and the integration of these teachings and values into liturgy, prayer, and study. In these three sessions, international speakers from diverse faith traditions present on the congregational greening programs and initiatives of their faith communities and organizations.
