Human Rights and the Crime of Apartheid in Israel/Palestine

Session Description:

There is increasing consensus today in the global human rights movement that Israeli policies and practices toward millions of Palestinians constitute the crime of apartheid. Religious communities from around the world have vocalized their affirmation of this framework by adopting policy resolutions on apartheid, holding educational conversations, building coalitions, and advocating for Palestinian rights. Join leaders from Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities for an interfaith conversation on how to respond to the recognition of Israeli apartheid and the important role of people of faith in calling for change. We also hear from representatives from Human Rights Watch who provide an overview of their 2021 report, “A Threshold Crossed: Israeli Authorities and the Crimes of Apartheid and Persecution” and how they came to the determination that crimes against humanity of apartheid and persecution are being committed.
