Judaism and the Global Ethic?
Session Description:
This session explores the Parliament’s signature document the Global Ethic, from a Jewish perspective in light of the fact that Judaism has its own sacred doctrine, the Torah. It addresses questions like: Where is there overlap and where is there conflict between the Jewish tradition and the tradition of the Global Ethic? What about the importance of interfaith dialogue and working together with others? Should the achievements of dialogue and working together override conflicts between Judaism and the Global Ethic? To what extent should Jews cede their tradition to the authority of the Global Ethic?
