CANCELLED: Launching A Global Movement of Interreligious Friendship

Elijah is a group of religious leaders that maintains close bonds of friendship and has the power to inspire by the force of their longstanding relationships. Elijah focuses on the vocation of the religious leader as s/he negotiates traditional teaching and spiritual processes in relation to taking a stand and contributing to the issues the world/humanity faces. How much of the responsibility of the religious leader lies within and how much does the religious leader have a broader commitment to society? Rather than exploring these concerns by way of theoretical discussions, we take the approach that brings us back to the theme of religious genius. Participants offer an account of who are the religious leaders who have inspired them in their leadership and who point the way to addressing these issues. By focusing on the story side and the modeling side we will be creating resources for conversations among Elijah leaders and resources for sharing with the broader public.
