Lessons from the Tri-Faith Commons
Session Description:
Building intentional relationships in a diverse space is a messy project. Wendy Goldberg and Jeremy Fricke share insights from the Tri-Faith experiment to bring together in permanent residency a synagogue, church, mosque, and interfaith center on one 38-acre campus in America’s heartland. The founding faith partner organizations and their members aim to exemplify interfaith peace building for our city, the country, and the world as they cooperate and gain insight on how best to foster and celebrate religious pluralism. This session highlights stories of success and challenges when working toward community-building with those who are different from us. Using engaging facilitation methods, intentional discussion, and teaching best practices, participants learn relationship-building skills to prepare for meaningful connection in diverse spaces.
