One Step Sideways: When the Divine Is Feminine
Session Description:
This session engages the critical state of our planet from a Pagan, animist point of view. Pagans generally believe that environmentalism is inherent in Pagan paths. The session explores how animistic and pagan religions have long been linked to environmentalism because of the veneration of nature as divine, and specifically the connection of a birthing and dying planet to the Divine Feminine. This session discusses how the deliberate elimination of the Divine Feminine from the conversation of monotheistic, patriarchal religions has resulted in wounds that may not be recoverable without her inclusion. This session also addresses the misconception presumed in many interfaith forums, that we are all the same, or come from the same source.
