Our Connection to Our Fragile Planet: Despair and Hope
Session Description:
Our planet is dying of global warming, extinction, and biological annihilation. We are in the midst of Earth’s sixth mass extinction, and some day there may be a last generation of humans as the odds of human civilization reaching the 22nd century are often estimated at less than 50%. In this session, we face our collective fear, grief, and despair, and process what we are losing on this earth that is precious beyond measure. We explore via meditation, contemplation questions, and a sharing procedure supported by research to create extraordinary connection: our deepest feelings about the destruction caused by climate change; the fact that the years we can postpone each wild place and species lost are incalculably valuable; and the actions that we can engage in that will make a difference in restoring planetary health, one place at a time.
