Our Sacred Stories and Our Shared Flourishing
Session Description:
Sacred stories express the heart’s deepest concerns as it passes through the mystery of existence. These stories orient us to how we know ourselves and live in relationship with one another, the natural world, and that which we call Sacred. How can our sacred stories help us to imagine a shared future where all can flourish? Through conversation with narratives from the Buddhist, Confucian, and Christian traditions, this session explores how the wisdom of our faith traditions can help us to address the important issues of our times. Presenters address concepts such as re-hearing and re-telling sacred stories for times such as today, the transformative interactions of sharing stories across traditions, and the notion of relational, comprehensive flourishing.
