Red Tent Workshop: Exploring Ways to Experience a Sacred Circle in the Red Tent

Session Description:

For possibly thousands of years, women have been called into the Red Tent, the “womb of sisterhood.” In the ancient Red Tent, as eloquently described in the prize-winning novel by Anita Diamant, we were able to be nurtured, to grow, to feel honored, and be safe. In our modern-day Red Tent we are similarly free to honor our biological gifts and transformations, to celebrate our sacred nature, to comfort and hold one another. When in such a space with other women, we are also reminded of our extended community and power of communing with other women in a sacred manner. In this session, you can experience the skills and suggest tools to create your own Red Tent, an original and personal expression of you and your sisters in your own community. You leave with models and skills that have proven effective, as well as experiencing a Red Tent setting. Together we illustrate ways to convene your own Red Tent where you live in a way that serves you and your community.
