Responses to Violations of Freedom and Human Rights
Session Description:
This session aims to explore past and present violations of freedoms and human rights affecting marginalized populations. We examine the history and causes of these abuses, their consequences, and potential solutions for preventing future occurrences. We discuss cases from countries around the world and show how tensions exist between human rights and security. The goal of this session is to shed light on these injustices, to bring awareness to these populations, and to offer possible solutions to better protect and support these groups. Topics covered include Palestinian rights, the plight of the Indigenous people of Sindh, the Holocaust, the Hindu Social System, and women and girls in rural coastal Kenya.
